The characteristics of good jobs have been identified , and include learning new things, gaining security, being autonomous (i.e. deciding how to do the work) , having convenient hours , performing a variety of tasks , being interesting (i.e., requiring activity the job holder likes to do), paying well, offering good physical working conditions and providing a good fit between the worker’s experience and the job requirements.
